Glass as Filtration Medium
Since the early 1900s, glass has been used as a filtration medium. On the other hand, refined-glass-filtration media has only been available in the last 10 to 20 years. Currently, glass media is commonly available and successfully used for pool and industrial filtration. As is the case with sand, there can be enormous differences in quality depending on the material’s performance and selection. It should be noted that our glass media is manufactured from pure new glass off-cuts and is free of heavy metals and contaminants, which would otherwise be destined for landfill sites.
